not a food blog, just my life

After leaving Galway, we headed to Dublin for a few days, and Belfast for one day to learn firsthand about the conflicts in Northern Ireland. I was a little upset that I didn't get to see any Game of Thrones action (since it's being filmed there). But it's okay, I'm over it. We got to hear from a High Court judge in Dublin at the Four Courts, which was really cool. (He even gave me his business card :P). I also visited the Guinness factory, saw Jonathan Swift's tomb, visited Trinity College, and was very sad that I didn't find LadurĂ©e macarons. But I guess that means I just have to come back to Europe for that.

Now, I'm writing you from the Hague. We got in yesterday, went to the International Criminal Court this morning for a bit, and saw one of the witnesses for the defense in the Jean Pierre Bemba Gombo case. It was such an awesome experience. I wish we were going back there again, but according to our professor, we'll be going to the ICTY (International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia). I can't wait for more trials. It kind of sucks that we've been studying all this stuff for the last two weeks, and all of a sudden, we only get to go to the courts for less than a morning. But hopefully, we'll get to see more while we're here. Until the next time! :)
